НА АНГЛИЙСКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ О МЦЕНСКОМ КРАЕ

Конкурс «Интерактивная карта России «Наша страна — наше наследие» проводился Центром группы германских языков с ноября 2011-го по март 2012 года на сайте издательства «Просвещение»: http://prosv.ru/umk/spotlight/info.aspx?ob_no=29303
За это время со всех концов страны от школьников и их учителей пришло более трех тысяч конкурсных работ на английском языке, которые удивляли своими рассказами о родном крае, радовали отличными фотографиями. Теперь мы имеем возможность познакомиться с историями и легендами городов, посёлков,
деревень — от Калининграда до Камчатки.
В России есть много уникальных уголков природы — Камчатка со своей долиной гейзеров, Сочи, где в мае можно и купаться в море, и кататься на лыжах, Уральские горы, хранящие в себе почти всю таблицу Менделеева, Заполярье, где можно наблюдать северное сияние, знаменитый Кавказ…
Мы предлагаем вашему вниманию одну из работ, присланных на конкурс, но не прошедших по формату, — как образец умного и доброго совместного творчества учителя с учениками, как средство воспитания любви к родному краю и готовности рассказать о нём с любовью всему миру.

Регионоведческая азбука-раскраска на английском языке — пособие по межкультурному регионоведению о Мценском крае — является результатом проектной работы членов клуба «Любители английского языка» и содержит познавательный материал о Мценске, Мценском районе, Орловской области.
Руководитель проекта — Зимина Татьяна Александровна, учитель английского языка МБОУ Лицея № 5 г. Мценска Орловской области.
Участники проекта — члены клуба «Любители английского языка»: Гладких Полина, Кисловская Полина, Лямцева Алла, Болтенкова Дарья, Филичев Тимофей, Волуев Алексей, Годова Дарья, Сёмина Кристина, Афонина Анастасия, Горохова Ольга, Камаев Евгений, Кирюхин Дмитрий, Овсянникова Анастасия, Рязанов Сергей — учащиеся 8 класса «В» МБОУ Лицея № 5 г. Мценска Орловской области.
Использование азбуки-раскраски может носить пролонгированный характер. Учащиеся 2–3 классов могут практиковаться в написании английских букв и слов на эти буквы, а также раскрашивать тематические картинки. Учащиеся 4–6 классов могут продолжить работу с азбукой-раскраской, изучая тексты о реалиях родного края. В настоящее время у учащихся часто возникают ситуации реального общения с носителями английского языка, когда появляется естественная потребность рассказать о местах, где ты родился и живёшь. Возможно, этот материал станет подспорьем в решении этой задачи.

Before 1917 there were more than 12 churches in Mtsensk.
Now we have 6 churches and a chapel.
All of them are architectural monuments.
They are St. Peter-and-Paul’s Church (XVII century), the Trinity Church (XVIII century), St.Nicolas Chapel (XX century), the Nikitskaya Church/the Cross Exaltation Church (XIX century) and some others.

If you go to our railway station and buy a ticket to Moscow it’ll take you four hours to get the capital of our Motherland.
The distance between Moscow and Mtsensk is about 330 km.
Our ancient railway station is an architectural monument and one of the sightseeings of Mtsensk. The monument of this old railway engine you can also see at our railway station.

Spasskoye-Lutovinovo___
Not far from Mtsensk (12 km) there is a village of Spasskoye-Lutovinovo. This place is well-known all over the world as the birthplace of an outstanding Russian writer I.S. Turgenev. L.N. Tolstoy, A.A. Fet, N.A. Nekrasov, Ya.P. Polonsky, V.P. Botkin and many other famous people visited Ivan Sergeyevich in his estate; some of them were fond of hunting with Turgenev in the forests around his village.

Xmas (Christmas) and New Year are the most favourite holidays. Young and old people like them very much. On these holidays we usually decorate New year trees with sweets, candels, toy balls, angels; put presents under the fir-trees, cook a tasty holiday dinner for the whole family, dance, sing songs, make fun, send each other beautiful postcards, e-mail letters, SMS; visit friends and relatives. We say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. In Russia Xmas (Christmas) is on the 7-th of January, in the english-speaking countries it is celebrated on the 25-th of December.

Yeti is a snow man. He/she is very funny and big. You can’t see yeti in the streets, parks and squares of Mtsensk.
They say yetis live in the mountains far away from our place.
In Mtsensk you can see many children playing in the yards with their friends and walking their pets; adults going to their offices; visitors enjoying the sights of our town. Mtsensk is worth visiting. You are welcome.

Our ancient town of Mtsensk
stands on the river Zusha.
It cuts our town off into
two parts: old and modern.
The Zusha is lovely for
swimming, boating and fishing.
It flows into the river Oka, then into the Volga,
after that into the Caspian Sea.
Our beauty is a favourite place to have a rest.
